Rotation overview
- Prepare to immerse yourself in a comprehensive 100% inpatient hospitalist rotation, mentored by a highly committed Internist renowned for their dedication to patient care and medical education. This unique opportunity allows you to delve into a wide array of clinical scenarios, enriching your medical training with limited hands-on experience (physician discretion) in patient history taking and the development of nuanced care plans.
- The hosting Hospitalist operates on a distinctive 7 days on/7 days off schedule, during which you will be actively engaged for approximately 5-6 hours daily. This structure not only facilitates intense, focused learning periods but also allocates time for self-study, as you will be encouraged to engage with assigned readings and prepare presentations during your off-weeks. This balance ensures a comprehensive learning experience, blending practical, on-the-ground training with academic rigor.
- You will have the invaluable opportunity to pose questions and gain insights from an experienced Internal Medicine Hospitalist, enhancing your understanding and skills in internal medicine.
- An additional perk is free breakfast and lunches at the hospital cafeteria.
- For international medical students on a B1/B2 Visa and not currently residing in the U.S., please note the importance of arriving at least five days before your scheduled start date. This advance arrival is crucial for fulfilling the hospital's requirement of submitting an I-90 form in the week preceding your rotation. Adherence to this procedure is essential to avoid any delays in the commencement of your clinical experience. For further details or assistance, we encourage you to get in touch with our administrative team.
- This rotation offers an unparalleled opportunity to refine your clinical skills and deepen your understanding of internal medicine, under the mentorship of a seasoned Hospitalist in a dynamic hospital setting.
