Exclusive Hands-On Rotation for IMGs at a J1 Visa-Sponsoring Teaching Hospital
- Opportunities like this are rare: gain inpatient experience at an IMG-friendly, ACGME-affiliated teaching hospital that provides both hands-on clinical training and full EMR access. You’ll round daily with the Internal Medicine (IM) team alongside United States and high-performing Caribbean medical students, offering you the chance to learn in a dynamic, real-world U.S. hospital environment. You will be in a cohort of 3-5 students. Depending on the sub-specialty, you will also gain hands-on hospital based outpatient experience, which is critical un understanding how the U.S. healthcare system opeates.
- Residency Visa Support: This hospital actively supports J1 Visas for residency, making it an excellent choice for IMGs aiming to match in the U.S.
- Subspecialty Options: If General IM is unavailable during your preferred dates, we offer inpatient subspecialty rotations in:
- Cardiology (Approximately 2wks inpatient + 2wks hospital based clinic)
- Gastroenterology
- Pulmonology
- Nephrology
- ICU
- Hematology-Oncology
- Letter of Recommendation (LOR): A performance-based LOR is available on the teaching hospital's official letterhead, making it a valuable asset for your residency application. If you have the opportunity to round with more than 1 preceptor, then you can ask for more than 1 LOR.
- We need the following documents before the hospital will issue the invite letter (or if you need an Acceptance Leter for cores/electives):
- Passport
- Insight IT Forms (we will provide)
- Student Contact Sheet (we will provide)
- Covid-19 Vaccination Card
