About the rotation

Rotation overview

Your hands-on experience will be with a very kind and talented Rheumatologist in her outpatient clinic Monday-Friday. The clinic is located on the hospital campus of Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital.
You will get to see patients with the doctor initially, and then take a patient history and then present to the physician; you will be involved in the decision making process. She will allow you access to her EMR (Medical records system) and you can review patient data; you will also be trained in how to use the EMR to prechart for new patients. Also, a strong LOR is waiting for you if you show your hard work and dedication.
The current clinic schedule is Monday- Friday 8 am-4 pm, with usually half/full day for administrative duties. There are usually 12-14 patients each day in the office with a variety of conditions including common rheumatologic conditions, patients for infusions, bracing, etc.
