Internal Medicine Rotations in New York: Housing-Included Clinical Training
Arranging housing from another country, sight unseen, is one of the more stressful logistics an IMG has to sort out before starting a US rotation. Our New York Internal Medicine placement removes that step entirely: housing is built into the price, and it is one of the few rotations on our roster where that is true.
Quick Facts
- Location: St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital affiliated campus, Newburgh, NY
- Setting: Combined inpatient and outpatient, 4 weeks
- Housing: Included (dorm accommodation close to the hospital)
- Extras: Occasional lunch provided by the mentor, occasional pickup and drop-off support
- Max students: 2
- Price: $4,150 (rotation plus housing)
What "Housing Included" Actually Covers
Instead of arranging a short-term rental or hotel on your own, you get dorm accommodation within close range of the hospital as part of the package. The mentor also occasionally provides lunch and pickup or drop-off support. For a student coming from overseas without a US bank account, credit history, or local contacts to help arrange short-term housing, that logistical certainty is worth as much as the clinical training itself.
An IMG-Friendly Hospital with a Track Record
St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital's affiliated campus has its own residency program, and the mentor here has prior rotators who went on to match. That is not a small detail: it means the environment is genuinely built around supporting visiting IMGs toward residency readiness, not simply tolerating them for a month. You will get 4 weeks of combined inpatient and outpatient exposure, in a supportive learning environment focused specifically on getting you to resident-level competence.
